Just before the Extra-ordinary Definitory in Goa India, the Discalced Carmelites in Europe organized a meeting for formators at the University of the Mystic, CITES in Avila.
There were 14 provinces of Discalced Carmelites that participated in this annual formative meeting. These provinces are distributed in 9 countries: Belgium, Croatia, Spain, France, Italy, Malta, Poland, Portugal, and Lebanon which is linked to the European provinces.

Father Gonzalo Fernández, Vicar General of the Claretian missionaries, who tackled the theme “The challenges of community life. Solutions from the culture and psychology of today’s youth”;
the Discalced Carmelite Juan Antonio Marcos who presented the theme “Educate freedom in the spiritual path according to the saints of Carmel”,
and the Jesuit Luis María García Domínguez who developed the theme: “How to accompany: techniques of dialogue between formator and the one being formed”.
The participants in this meeting dedicated the afternoons of the 29th and the 31st to follow two Teresian itineraries in the city of Ávila. A visit to Duruelo, the place of the first male Teresian foundation, took place on the morning of the 30th.
The provincial Father Juan Debono presided over the meeting. Father Pius Sammut, our novice Master took part in this meeting.
